NAI Sierra Pacific 2025 Workshop Training Series

Join the Sierra Pacific Region either virtually or in person for our 2025 Workshop Training Series 

“Interpretive Insights – Lighting the Way” 

Building on our success from the previous Workshop Series, we will again hold a hybrid Workshop Training Series for 2025. This year’s theme of “Interpretive Insights – Lighting the Way” is intended to inspire interpreters with new ideas for engagement, thus lighting the way for innovative techniques to emerge. This will be a way to share interpretive insights to gain a better understanding of what goes into creating programs, the types of programs that suit different audiences, and how it is all brought together in a cohesive fashion.  

For this Workshop Training Series, we will hold separate In-Person Community Events at 4 different locations around the Sierra Pacific Region, capping it off with a Virtual Highlighter & Awards Event in the Fall.  

In-Person Community Events: 

1. Bay Area:  Friday, February 28 –  Join us in Santa Clara County to learn from colleagues on how they are lighting the way in the field of interpretation. We will be hosted at West Valley College by their Park Management Program team and will also have different options for field trips in the area. A full agenda will be available in early January, stay tuned! If you’d like to join the planning committee or have a 45-minute session you’d like to be considered for, please email Ashley Grenier at agrenier@ebparks.org by December 30^th. 
2. North Coast Area:  Friday, April 25 – Join us in Arcata for a day of interpretive inspiration & insights, then end the day with local field trips. Registration will go LIVE Soon! Check out the AGENDA!
3. Sacramento Area: Friday, August 8:   – Connect with colleagues from several different parks and museums to learn of their innovations and challenges during this interpreter’s crawl through downtown Sacramento. 4. Nevada: TBD – If you’d like to join the planning committee or have a 45-minute session you’d like to be considered for, please email Julie Bless at jbless@ndow.org  as soon as possible.

SAVE THE NEXT DATE!  Join us for our final 2025 Workshop Training Series Event: the Virtual Highlighter Event, Wednesday evening from 6 – 8:15 pm, October 29.  We’ll share highlights from the year, hear a keynote speaker, and celebrate with 2025’s Professional Awards recipients. Share some spooky Halloween fun with your fellow interps!
